France was the first ally to the US. France fought alongside the US and sent aid to the country during the American Revolution. France was a big supporter of the US due to their endless feud with the UK. Spain could also be considered a first ally as they sent aid to the US. However, it was very little compared to France's aid.
SPAIN, as an ally of France who had already signed a treaty with the revolutionaries (for her own political ends of course) the previous year. France was hoping to gain control of Canada and the Spanish control of Florida.
Britain, France, and Russia, but Russia became an ally when they realized that Hitler had gone back on their promise. I do not know about France, but I am pretty sure.

France co-worked with the US during the American revolution (not the French!), because the Americans wanted to rid themselves of the UK government and wanted to be an independent nation and the UK had always been the arch enemy of France. That was the only reason the French helped the Americans achieve their independence.
