Jehovah (God) provided leadership. Guidance, and protection for his people during the exodus from Egypt. How so? 1) After the tenth plague, which motivated Pharaoh to release the Israelites, Jehovah lead them out of Egypt into the wilderness by taking a longer route than one might have thought was necessary (Exodus 13:17'18), this protected them from possible warfare with hostile neighbors. 2) Shortly after their release from Egypt, Pharaoh had a change of heart and sent 600 chariots to bring them back to Egypt as slaves. As the Egyptian army comes into sight, the Israelites become terrified and cry out to Moses: "Is it because there are no burial places at all in Egypt that you have taken us here to die in the wilderness?" Confident in Jehovah's salvation, Moses replies: "Do not be afraid. Stand firm and see the salvation of Jehovah, which he will perform for you today. . . . Jehovah will himself fight for you, and you yourselves will be silent."-Exodus 14:5-14. Jehovah's angel miraculously moves to their rear the pillar of cloud that has been leading the camp of Israel. While it becomes a source of darkness to the Egyptians, that same pillar gives light to the Israelites. (Exodus 13:21, 22; 14:19, 20) 3) Jehovah provided Salvation for his people by miraculously parting the Red Sea and allowing 3 million Israelites to cross unharmed and closing it in on Pharaohs war chariots. Thus Jehovah proved that he will protect , guide, and deliver those who learn his ways and follow him today. the way to do this is by personally studying his word, The Bible to find out what He requires of us.
