Prior to Ireland's Call being written in 1995, no anthem was played at Ireland's away rugby matches. As it is an all-Ireland sport, there was no anthem deemed appropriate. That is why Ireland's Call was written. "God Save the Queen", was played for matches in Belfast and "Amhrán na bhFiann" for matches in Dublin.
