Atticus tries to make Jem leave the jail and go home during the confrontation with the angry mob to ensure Jem's safety. He wants to protect Jem from any potential danger or violence that could occur.
Because its the first time they have seen snow and Jem doesn't want Scout to ruin it by leaving lots of footprints in it.
Jem didn't want to take the ball of twine into the Radley yard because he didn't want to make Boo Radley feel like they were taunting him or invading his privacy further. Jem was also afraid of getting in trouble with their father, Atticus, if he found out they were trespassing on the Radley property.

Jem wanted to retrieve his pants before morning came because he didn't want to get in trouble with Atticus. He didn't want Atticus to know what they were doing, which was looking into Radley's window.
Jem touches the house, because Dill dares him to. And Jem doesn't want to be a coward, so he does it to prove to Dill that he is not afraid.because he was dares by Dill to touch it. Since Jem always takes dares, he did it.
Jem uses earth and snow to make their snowman.
Jem's idea was to make a snowman out of dirt and cover it with snow to make it look like a snowman.
Jem does not want Scout to tell Atticus about Bob Ewell's comment because he fears that it might upset Atticus and cause trouble. However, it is not wise to keep such important information from Atticus, as he is their father and can handle the situation appropriately. It is important to communicate openly and honestly with trusted adults when dealing with serious matters.
