According to The Bible, they preached about 'the Good News of God's Kingdom'.(Matthew 10:5-7)
History:
From the first sin by mankind, God promised a solution....someone (Messiah-anointed one)who would, one day, destroy the original cause of human suffering, Satan the devil (Genesis 3:15/Revelation 20:10)and set up a 'kingdom' that will never be brought to ruin(Daniel 2:44/Revelation 11:15/John 18:35-37/Matthew 5:5).
This Messiah, the 'seed', was prophesied all through the Hebrew scriptures(Romans 9:7/Galatians 3:16)(Isaiah 9:6/Luke 1:30-33)(Genesis 22:18/Psalm 22:27/ Revelation 7:9)(Genesis 49:10/Ezekiel 21:27)(Daniel 9:26)(Isaiah 53:7/Psalm 69:4/). He would come at an appointed time (Galatians 4:4), fulfill all the prophecies about him, and ultimately become the King of God's Kingdom(Isaiah 9:7/Daniel 2:44). This Kingdom would bring back the earthly paradise originally purposed for mankind(Genesis 1:28 /Daniel 2:44/Acts 17:26)....it would fulfill every promise(2 Corinthians 1:20/Romans 3:21-24).
John the Baptizer was sent just ahead of the Messiah(Malachi 4:5+6/John 1:35-40/John 3:26-30), to 'prepare the way' for his immanent coming, and atlast proclaim the FULFILLMENT of the Messianic prophecies in Jesus(John 1:29-37).
When Jesus began his ministry, he preached about the Kingdom of God(Luke 4:43/Matthew 4:23/Matthew 19:24-26/Mark 4:26-34/Mark 10:13-16/Matthew 6:9+10,33+34/Matthew 9:35/Luke 9:11/Luke 16:16). HE was the representative of that kingdom(Mark 1:14+15) He spoke of the importance of repentance(Matthew 4:17), stopping bad behavior and DOING God's will(Matthew 7:21-23). He taught his disciples to do the same (Luke 8:1/Luke 9:1+2/Matthew 28:18-20/Acts 28:30-31). "And this gospel of the kingdomwill be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come."(Matthew 24:14)
Jesus won't preach when he returns, but he will rule.
Jesus the Christ did not preach in Rome, but Paul the apostle went to Rome and preached about Jesus as did other men.

You can preach on Jesus in a church or at a prayer meeting. But you can not do it openly on the road.
yes
Jesus washed the deciples feet at the last supper. This was something that a servant did and Jesus was showing them that they too are to be servants. How humbling that must have been for the deciples to see the Son of God washing their feet.
Most Christians believe that Jesus Christs role on earth was to preach repentance to preach forgiveness to preach salvation and to die for the sins of humanity and to rise in glory to eternal life.
Jesus first preaching was in the open, and not in a house.
There is no record of how long it took for Jesus to preach this sermon; but also there is no record of any breaks in his preaching of more than 3000 words in this sermon. So one may judge for himself the time Jesus took to preach it.
they preach the truth and that jesus christ is thelord and almighty god, and he died on the cross for our sins.
The last command of Jesus was to go out in the world and preach , and make disciples.
