What did Jesus calm?

Jesus calmed the storm. In Mark 4:36-41 he rebuked the wind and told the sea to be still. In the framework parallel structure of Mark's Gospel, the rebuke forms a pair with Jesus' rebuke of James and John, known as the 'sons of thunder' (pair K):
