Lazarus was raised from the dead by Jesus. He was a brother of Mary and Martha, living in Bethany. Found in John, chapter 11.
Jesus spoke of another Lazarus, who was poor, sitting and begging at the gate of a rich man's home. This beggar died and went to "Abraham's bosom," a way of saying that he went to paradise. The rich man, who didn't care about the needs of the poor beggar, also died, but went to Hell, where he was in torments. Found in Luke 16:19-31.
