Jesus interacted kindly with the Romans when he met them, but he did not have a Roman following. He did cure a centurion's servant, but this was an individual who had heard of Jesus' fame as a healer. He advised the people to "render unto Caesar...". When it came time to arrest him, someone (Judas) had to point him out to the Romans because they did not know who he was. At his trial he understood Pilate's dilemma, by saying that others had the greater sin and more or less excused him.
