The pursuit of happiness is a concept, that is diametrically opposed to everything that Biblical Christianity really means. In the New Testament Christians are called disciples, that is learners or followers of Christ. Jesus himself instructed his followers to "count the cost" of being a disciple.

Matthew 16:24-25 "Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it."

Luke 14:26-27 "If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.

And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple."

Apostle Paul in his second epistle to Timothywrote in ch.

3:12 "Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution."

This life, where millions are struggling with poverty, hunger, violence of war and disease, it is not the time and place to enjoy ourselves.

Romans 15:1-3 "We then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves. Let every one of us please his neighbour for his good to edification. For even Christ pleased not himself; but, as it is written, The reproaches of them that reproached thee fell on me."

Jesus did however teach joy and inner peace, which is not happiness but a little foretaste of the heavenly bliss in the midst of this life's troubles.

Matthew 5:11-12 "Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you."

John 14:27 "Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid."

And that, my friend, can only come from God, the Holy Spirit. There is no workshop, or a seven step program that will give you that peace and confidence, only God.

Romans 15:13 "Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost."

Happiness is not so much in having as sharing. We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.

What did Jesus give us as the keys for living in true happiness.?

The 5th chapter of Matthew lists several reasons for happiness. Verse 3 in particular states. "Happy are those conscious of there spiritual need, since the Kingdom of the heavens belongs to them." --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jesus didn't give anybody keys for living in true happiness. Jesus came to call the nation of Israel to repentance: Matthew 15:24 But He answered and said, "I was not sent except to the lost sheep of the house of Israel." So much of Jesus' teaching was to show Israel how they had failed as God's chosen people. But Israel rejected Jesus as the Messiah If you want to think of "keys" then what Jesus said to Nicodemus is a key. John 3:3 Jesus answered and said to him, "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God." This key to eternal life was not available until after Jesus died on the cross so was not preached by Jesus but by His disciples AFTER His death. 1John 5:1,12 And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. True happiness is knowing your sin is forgiven and your relationship with God has been restored.

What is the meaning of life dont give out stuff like enjoy it etc everyone wants to know why?

When you are living your life for yourself or in vain (which means emptyness)...you will not get any true happiness out of it... but when you truly give your life to the Lord and serve hm with all you heart...god will give you this happiness that you are seeking...there is a saying that says: If you want temporary happiness go to the world; but if you want neverending joy go to God! This is so true!!! I really hope you find the true happiness that God has...if you just fully trust him!

What is the nicest gift you can give to your parents?

Have a good life. The trick is knowing what a "good life" is when your in the middle of living it. Consider that fun is what you feel when you are doing something, and happiness is what you feel when you are done doing something... happiness is more important than fun. You can live well and you can live right, but sometimes your have to pick one... living right is more important than living well. Figure out what is important for your good life.

Why did Jesus say to the woman at the well give you to drink?

As Jesus knew that she was living in adultery , he told her to go and sin no more. Actually, the above is a different story. Jesus told the woman at the well that she'd had 5 husbands and the man she was living with now was not her husband. This was a different situation to the one when Jesus told the woman accused of adultery to "Go and sin no more." Jesus also asked the woman at the well to give him a drink (unheard of for a Jewish man to even speak to a woman in public, let alone a Samaritan), then he told her that "whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life."
