He didn't say that authority had been given to 'YOU'..or to any human.
What he said was "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me."(Matthew 28:18 NIV)(Daniel 7:14/Matthew 11:27/Philippians 2:9). Here he was saying that God had given him (Jesus)authority to judge and command those on earth, so in this particular scripture, he was commanding his followers to preach to, and teach, others (Matthew 28:19+20).
God in heaven gave authority to Jesus. God is the creator and sustainer of the universe. He has all authority, and only from Him was Jesus given authority.
Jesus, who is also called Christ, is a king and ruler of the kingdom of heaven. All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Him. Therefore He rules over His followers (citizens) in both earth and heaven, those you refer to as "living" and "dead" Jesus is awsome :]]

No one. Matthew 28:18: And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
St. Peter is given the "keys to the kingdom of Heaven" by Jesus, which symbolizes his authority as the leader of the Christian church. This is referenced in the Bible in the Gospel of Matthew 16:18-19.
God the father sent Jesus to earth to sacrifice Himself to take away our sin. This He did by dying on the cross, being buried, and then resurrecting the third day. Jesus by sacrificing Himself for us has given us the privilege of praying to God the Father. We now have free access to God. When we pray we pray to God the Father in heaven. And when we close our prayer we close in Jesus' name because it was He who has given us the authority to pray to God freely.
Jesus says to St. Peter--19 "I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; and whatever you bind on earth shall have been bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall have been loosed in heaven." --Matthew 16:19 New American Standard Bible
adam was not given life in heaven. he was human humans have their lives on earth.
I say so, as Jesus came to save the world of sinners, and to do his fathers will , to die on the cross at Calvary. he did not come to earth to get married. as he clearly said in heaven they do not marry and are not given in marriage.
Peter was symbolically given the keys to the Kingdom of Heaven by Jesus.
