He said that right after the rich young ruler came to Him asking what he must do to gain eternal life. Jesus quoted a couple of commandments, to which the man said he had kept.
Jesus knew the man valued his riches more than anything and told him "Sell all you have and give it to the poor." It wasn't the money that was the problem. It was the man's attitude toward money and it being more important to him than anything else.
For many rich people, their focus is on money and making it more than anything else.
In another verse it says "where a man's treasure is, there his heart will be."
Still another verse says that there are few that will go to heaven.
God's way of doing things
The reign of God means his own kingdom in heaven and his kingdom on earth the church.
Basically, the cross was an instrument to provocate the death to political criminals within roman empire. Jesus died by its particular explosive ideas and not by its fight against Jude religious power. Jesus was talking about the "kingdom of God" and this speech was suficient to create him problems inside some areas of the Jude society. The kingdom of God was such a kingdom where people live helping each other to build a better society, the cross represents the political dimension of Jesus message.
First tell us which kingdom you mean.
If you mean the responsibility to tell people about God, then we are the ones. But if you mean working in people's lives, then Jesus is still the one.
You can say be evangelists and spread the word of Jesus to all people.
well he is the god's sonA:The kingdom of God was central to Jesus' preaching and He describes it in many of His parables. He spoke also of the glad tidings of the kingdom (Luke 8:1) and of the mystery of the kingdom of God (Mark 4:11). The kingdom of God is God's ruling, the sovereign reign of God. Jesus regularly invited people to enter the kingdom of God, that is, to open their lives to the ruling of God. He invited everyone. He spoke of God sending His servants out to the highways and hedges to urge people to come in to the kingdom. The apostles began to speak of eternal life, salvation, forgiveness, and other themes. The kingdom of God is righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit (Romans 14:17). Communal, in the strictest sense of the word, as it applies to the kindom of God, actually negates the need for God's presence and I doubt Jesus would understand it to be that way.
There are two separate parables of two sons - (Matthew 21.28 & Luke 15.11) Which do you mean as they both convey different messages?
Jesus meant that all of the people who will/have been persecuted for being a Christian and openly discussing it may lose their life ON EARTH, but shall inherit eternal life in the kingdom of God.
People had long hair then, that is what you mean?
He may have been criticizing the Catholic Church. Loisy was a Catholic but was excommunicated because of his teaching. He may have been showing disappointment in that Jesus proclaimed the Kingdom of God but that hasn't arrive we only have the church.
