In Shakespeare's play, he says "Et tu, Brute?" Which, roughly translated, means, "You, too, Brutus?"

Writing more than 150 years after the event, the Roman historian Suetonius passed on reports that Caesar's final words were actually in Greek: "καὶ σύ, τέκνον;" ("Kai su, teknon?"), which means "You too, child?".

His final words were to Brutus, his trusted friend. He said, "et tu Brute?" Which translates to "And you, Brutus?" or "You too, Brutus?"

FYI Brutus stabbed him on the inner thigh along the femoral artery. This was called the "Cruelest blow" not only because it was the most damning betrayal, but because it meant a slow death from bleeding out rather than a stab in the heart.

Et tu Brutus? Yes, but only according to Shakespeare. According to the ancient writers there were two versions of Caesar's death. Most said that Caesar said nothing but just moaned. However, according to Tatum, the Romans needed to hear a man's last words because they were supposed to define the man's character. It is said that Caesar said a popular Greek expression to Brutus which was "kai su" which meant, literally "you too" ( a shortened version of kai su erre, which meant as for you, perish) The version, meaning "you too" could be comparable to our expression "up yours" or "go to hell ".

What ended the triumvirate between Caesar Crassus and Pompey?

You could loosely say death ended the triumvirate between Caesar, Crassus and Pompey. Pompey was married to Caesar's daughter and when she died, the two men drifted apart. Crassus was killed trying to wage a war against the Parthians. Eventually Pompey was killed by the Egyptians, but only after being defeated by Caesar in the battle of Pharsalus. You could loosely say death ended the triumvirate between Caesar, Crassus and Pompey. Who is responsible for killing Caesar?

We don't know exactly who was responsible for killing Caesar. There was a group in which each member stabbed at Caesar and ancient writers say that only one of Caesar's wounds was fatal, but don't know who delivered the fatal stab. History just says "the conspirators" killed Caesar and lets it go at that.We don't know exactly who was responsible for killing Caesar.
