The first horcrux that Harry destroys is the diary that possesses Ginny Weasley. He is uneducated about the meaning of horcruxes at the time and doesn't even know that he is slowly killing He-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named when he destroys it.

Why are the characters scared to say Voldemorts name?

In Harry Potter saying Voldermort is said to bring very bad luck, or worse. Tom Riddle, better known as Voldemort, The Dark Lord, You Know Who, or He Who Must Not Be Named, is not called his 'real' name because he was very evil and many were afraid that He, or his followers, would be able to hear them if they called him that, and then He might think that they were being 'disrespectful' to him, and decide to go after him. He was terrifying, and they didn't want to say his name in case in doing so He would return.

Why did Lord Voldemort create Horcruxes?

He didn't know he did it. It happened when Voldemort attempted to kill Harry when he was a baby. It was quite on accident, but was a result of the spell backfiring. It was the reason that Harry could speak Parseltongue and why he and Voldemort sometimes shared a mental connection.

Why must Harry Potter die?

So when the author passes away they can bring the character harry potter back to life. Harry Potter had to die in the last book because when in the 4th book Voldemort took harry's blood to regain a body, he also took the protection lily potter gave harry when she died. so that meant that harry was immortal while voldemort lived. other than that, on the night vol tried to kill harry when he was 1, voldemort accidentally created another horcrux (as dumbledore puts it, his soul was so unstable, the stress of the rebounding curse caused part of his soul to shatter from the whole and attach itself to the only other living thing in the building - harry). so in the end when harry thinks hes destroyed all the other horcruxes, there is still one left in him. Then when he gets "killed" the part of voldemorts soul was killed, not him. so then the only part of voldemort left is in his body.

Why did Harry Potter call his sons middle name Severus?

Before Harry dueled Voldemort, he, Ron, and Hermione saw Severus Snape brutally murdered by Voldemort whise hiding in the secret passage to Hogsmeade (Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban). Voldemort goes to Hogwarts to find Harry. Harry then comes out of the passage before Snape dies, and collects Snapes memories. He then goes back to Hogwarts, where Voldemort has given Harry one hour to come to him and turn himself in. Harry puts the memories in the Pensieve and sees how arrogant his father was, and that Dumbledore's death was actually planned between himself and Snape. He then learns in one memory that he is actually a Horcrux, too. With this information, Harry finishes Voldemort. Then he honored Snape by naming his second child Albus Severus, Severus being Snape's first name.

Was petter pettigrews hand cursed?

No. But at the end of Goblet of Fire, Pettigrew - aka "Scabbers", Ron Weasley's rat, cuts off his hand and throws it into the kettle to help Voldemort to be re-embodied. After Voldemort is reformed, he gives Pettigrew a new magical hand. It is Dumbledore whose hand is cursed, and withered, when Dumbledore puts on the ring of Salazar Slytherin, which was one of Voldemort's horcruxes.
