Well, when he released his first solo album on Motown (Got To Be There), he continued to make music both as a solo artist and as a member of the Jackson 5. Long after that, Michael still remained a member of the Jacksons after he released his very successful album that he had creative effort in: Off The Wall. On the final night of the Jacksons' Victory Tour in 1984, he officially announced that it would be the last night that they would all perform together, meaning that he would be branching out from his brothers. He recorded many successful albums after that, but he reunited with his brothers in 1989 for the song 2300 Jackson Street and on stage in 2001 for MJ's 30th anniversary celebration as a solo artist.
