What did Noah accomplish?

Noah was a righteous man who lived amongst wicked and unrighteous people in his time. The Bible said that the imagination of man's heart at that time was continually wicked - Genesis Chapter 6 verses 1 - 8. Noah became a hero because he obeyed God completely and carrying out the instructions on building an ark that kept him and his immediate families and also 2 pairs of every species of animals on earth because God had decided to destroy the entire world with a Flood. The sacrifice Noah offered after the flood receded made God to establish a covenant that He would never destroy the world again with Flood because of man's sins. God used a rainbow as the sign of the covenant that whenever He sees the rainbow , He will remember the covenant. This made Noah a hero. Well for one thing, Noah was not a hero to any of the ungodly people who lived during the time of the foretold coming flood. Why? It's was because Noah sounded a warning of what will soon take place and that Noah served only the true God with a strong faith and he proved indeed "a preacher of righteousness."-2 Peter 2:5; Matthew 24:38,39.

But today, we see that many do feel that Noah is a hero due to his faithfulness and righteousness as Genesis 6:8,9 states: "Noah found favor in the eyes of Jehovah....Noah was a righteous man. He proved himself faultless among his contemporaries. Noah walked with the true God."

Yes Noah was indeed a hero and a God-fearing man, who in fact built an ark for preservation of life during a global flood. In fact, this is a story that is familiar to millions of people. But what people do not realize is that Noah's life has meaning for all of us in today's world.
