Sinners, past, present and future do not earn redemption. Christianity is not a religion of works for salvation. The apostle Paul wrote 13 of the 27 books of the New Testament and over and over he stressed that a belief in Jesus Christ, the Son of God as being the only way to gain redemption. He was not the only writer of the New Testament to say this either, as Paul's writings were in full accord with the rest of the book. Sinners come to Jesus Christ with a heart felt need of salvation and a deep desire to be rid of their sin through the One who went to the cross of Calvary, who gave His life so that who so ever came to God through Him would receive God's free gift.

Jesus told Nicodemus and us in John 3:1-21, "Ye must be born again". We enter this world by a physical birth, but we are missing a spirit that is alive. By being born again we receive a spirit that is alive to God.

Paul tells us in Romans 10: 9-10, " That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."

Paul give us the Gospel (Good News) of Jesus Christ in I Corinthians 15:3-4, " For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures."

All that is needed is a heart that takes hold of the faith that is give to come to God through His only Son Jesus Christ.
