The people were confused when they began to hear the apostles speak in different languages, they conclude that the apostles were drunk. but Apostle Peter had to step up and correct them reminding them of the prophecy from Joel how God will pour out his spirit upon all flesh and how every one both young and old, either male or female will manifest one particular gift of the spirit or the other.

Apostle Peter is therefore letting them know that they too can manifest such gifts of the spirit by first repenting from their sin and being baptize. search for peteradinoyi YouTube channel to learn more about other prophecy in God's word that can positively transform your life.

Who was a follower of Jesus who preached to Jews and gentiles?

Down through the centuries there have been many people who are followers of Jesus, who have preached to both Jews and Gentiles. In the Bible we have the apostle Peter, who usually preached to Jews, but in Acts 10:34-43 he preached to a Gentile family of a Roman soldier, Cornelius. Also in Acts 8:26-40 we see the account of Philip, known as the evangelist in later times, preaching to the Ethiopian. Then of coarse the apostle Paul preached to Jews and Gentiles as we see in his epistles in the Bible.

Peter told them in both messages , how evil they were in killing Jesus, and exhorted them to repent and believe in Jesus; which the 8000 did. Here are the two passages in both messages that finally moved them to repentance: Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. (Acts 2.38) Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. (Acts 4.12)
