The Battle of Pork Chop Hill in 1953 was a series of battles between US and Chinese/Korean forces which were regarded as dubious inasmuch that the hills had little , if any , value strategically and tactically .
The battle represented the futility of the war and the struggle between opposing forces while an armistice was being negotiated .
