Theodore Roosevelt was fascinated by Biology, though not how you would think of it. He was focused on naturalism, meaning he studied the outdoors and the animals in it. However, after seeing that he could not make a career of this, he switched focuses and kept his naturalism studies on the side as a hobby. He eventually graduated from Harvard, though without a focus. What you want to know is what he did at Columbia University. He entered the law school there in hopes of a successful and lucrative job. While he did finish his studies, he found law school to be boring and uninteresting, and he spent most of his time completing his book he started in Harvard, the Naval War of 1812.
