As a child Thomas Alva Edison decided to create solutions to common problems. He pondered the problems and dangers of common methods of lighting. Fire and asphyxiation often affected adults and children of his century, the 1800's. The use of gas was widespread to light and cook at home. He studied the problem as a boy, and he set out to solve the problem as a man Gaslight was an accepted practice in Edison's youth. In Edison's youth the existence of moving pictures was only a future dream. By the time of his death Edison recorded over one thousand patents. He is generally considered to be the most prolific inventor of the nineteenth and the Twentieth centuries. It was Edison who inspired others to think and create solutions to problems.
