∙ 12y agoThe Hitler Youth was important, firstly, because the teenage boys who went into the movement would later grow up to be the soldiers in the Wehrmacht (army) and the SS fighting in defense of the Third Reich. This meant that the youth had to be trained in a military fashion so that they were prepared for a war. The Hitler Youth learnt skills such as engineering and carpentry and also how to fire guns; all of this was secret military training for the youth.
Secondly, the Hitler Youth was important because they were to be the future Nazis of Germany to carry the Third Reich forward for 1000 years. This meant that the Nazis had to indoctrinate them from and early age by teaching them about racial purity, the supremacy of the Aryan race and other Nazi ideology. This meant that the youth were being brainwashed to follow the Nazis and continue the Third Reich beyond Hitler.
