I'd like to take this opportunity to ask every person listening in, whoever and wherever they may be, to pause for a moment and contemplate the events of the past few hours, and to give thanks in his or her own way. You can get it from wiki.
"That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind."
While Buzz Aldrin said many things on the moon, the best known is his description of the landscape before him as ' magnificent desolation.'
I believe he was the Lunar Lander pilot and his words were "10 feet...CONTACT!" It was a rather dramatic landing for them and they almost didn't make it. Their fuel reserves were down to fumes! He said "beautiful view .......magnificent desolation "when he first stepped on the moon
Aldrin had said in 1969 that he got the name Buzz , by his younger sister who failed to say brother. It always came out as buzzer. He got it from his sister who called him Buzzer instead of brother.
Buz Aldrin NOT Neil Armstrong! Neil Armstrong landed on the moon 10 minutes after Buz Aldrin did. They also went with Mike Collins who flew round the moon several times never actually stopping the rocket in space at all! So Neil Armstrong should not take all the credit because actually Buzz Aldrin landed first but if you want our science teacher o be happy say Neil Armstrong. :)
After landing on the Moon, he radioed Earth: "I'd like to take this opportunity to ask every person listening in, whoever and wherever they may be, to pause for a moment and contemplate the events of the past few hours, and to give thanks in his or her own way." He gave himself Communion on the surface of the Moon, but he kept it secret because of a lawsuit brought by atheist activist Madalyn Murray O'Hair over the reading of Genesis on Apollo 8.[11] Aldrin, a church elder, used a pastor's home communion kit given to him by Dean Woodruff and recited words used by his pastor at Webster Presbyterian Church. Neil Armstrong did say a prayer. Buzz Aldrin took communion shortly after landing.

It was never told who Buzz's father was although some people think it's Commander Nebula (from the animated series). Other people say that it is Zerg because of the scene in Toy Story 2
Name recognition-wise, I'd say Buzz Aldrin. I think that this is very much a generational thing. Older people will not know who Messi is. Younger people are fairly unlikely to have heard of Aldrin
Neil Armstrong on July 20, 1969. He said: "That's one small step for (a) man, one giant leap for mankind". Buzz Aldrin followed him down the ladder and became the second man to walk on the moon.
