She opened the door and went down the stairs to a 'parallel' universe almost the same as her old house/world. Her parents (or likely replicas) had sewn on buttons for eyes though but they were very nice to Coraline. Coraline still wanted to search for her parents though but wasn't allowed to escape back. She made friends with a cat who bit by bit told her clues. Her new mother though wanted to sew buttons on Coraline's eyes. The cat told her if this happened she would have to stay there forever and Coraline did not want to. Coraline has to make a big decision. What will she do?
