Dodo birds aren't actually dumb. People think that they are dumb because they didn't realise that dodo birds knew that they were being killed, but by being a dodo bird, they couldn't escape. Dodo birds are naturally fat, which slows down their running, and dodo birds can't fly. Their predators would always kill them.
