leif ericson discovered america!
Leif Ericson is NOT correct! Erik the Red discovered and created a settlement on Greenland. Leif Erikson, his son, was born in Greenland, and explored and discovered Newfoundland and Vinland.
Leif Erickson discovered what is now Newfoundland in Canada.
We believe Leif was about 32 when he discovered America
Leif traveled to and named Vinland, Markland and Heluland. There were already people there but he discovered them for Europe.
Leif Erickson discovered what is now Newfoundland in Canada.
Leif was Eriks son, hence Leif Erickson. Erik discovered a pretty big island, Greenland and Leif discovered a pretty big continent, North America. I would say he compares favorably.
leif erikson
Leif Erikson
He didn't. Greenland was discovered by Leif's father Erik the Red.
Leif Eriksson discovered greenland. ----------------------- Actually it was Leif's dad who discovered Greenland. Leif discovered North America, though really he was following a course set by an Icelander. Leif did create a settlement in North America so many say he discovered it. After all the first guy felt it was too risky to go ashore, so he was just the first recorded European to see North America, not really the same as landing and "discovering". He also discovered a stranded ship and rescued its crew of 14 people.
Leif Ericson.
