The Non-believers of Makkah tortured the Prophet (SAW) and his followers to that extent that they had to flee to Madina Munawara.
Prophet Muhammad didn't flee from any place. He is prophet and is supported, defended, and inspired by God. Prophet migrated from Mecca to Medina upon God command to him to do so. This migration is called Hijra. Hijra is an Arabic word that means Migration or immigration. It refers to the Migration of prophet Muhammad (peace upon him) from Mecca city to Medina (currently, both in kingdom of Saudi Arabia) in year 622 AD when he was informed by God that it is plotted by the Mecca leaders of the disbelievers to assassinate him.

When prophet Muhammad migrated from Mecca (or Makkah) to Medina, he issued a decree that assured equal rights among all citizens including Muslims and non Muslims. Once a funeral of a Jewish passed by him, then he stood up and when told it is for a Jewish man he said is not a human soul that should be respected. One Jewish neighbour to him is used daily to put garbage in front of the prophet door. However, when this stopped for a day, the prophet visited the Jewish man to see if he is in need of any help but he found him sick. All teachings of Quran and the prophet calls for tolerant, forgiving, and respectable dealings with non Muslims. Refer to question below.

The Prophet Muhammed (PBUH) told Muslims to go to habasha but he himself didnt go but then he went from mecca to madina (known at that time as yathreb) due to the mistreatment of non believers to Muslims after that the non believers were waiting at his door to kill him but then God made them blind and Muhammed (PBUH) travelled with hazarat abu bakr elsediq as they entered they were welcomed by the people of elmadina ( those people were known as ansar) as the Prophet (PBUH) came they continued to say poetry about him complimenting him
