Some do and some don't.
But coming to Jesus and believing he is the son of God does not depend on worldly wisdom as the Historians have. and as this Scripture shows -
Luke 10.21. In that hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit, and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes: even so, Father; for so it seemed good in thy sight.
Jesus said that we have to become as little children to enter the kingdom of heaven, (Matthew 18.3), and to believe that Jesus is God s part of this.
Finally, only the Father God can draw a man to believe, as Jesus said -
John 6.44. No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.
There is no contemporary reference to Jesus by any source outside The Bible. Even his near-contemporary, Philo of Alexandria, who sought to document every religious movement in the Jewish world, seems never to have heard of him. Nevertheless, historians generally take the view that if a person is mentioned in antiquity, they assume that he really did exist unless there is strong evidence to the contrary. On this basis, most historians have assumed that Jesus probably did exist, although he is unlikely to have performed the many wonders attributed to him in the Bible.
A more recent trend, following careful evaluation of biblical and extra-biblical material has historians increasingly call the historical existence of Jesus into question.
