The start of "fast food" began in the late 50's with McDonald's opening their restaurants and so did the use of frozen TV dinners since TV was also just starting. Other than that the food was pretty much the same. In the early 50's margarine was just coming out and it came white with a a yellow die packet to color it yellow. I remember candy bars being bigger and with more chocolate, and soft drinks were in bottles and not cans. There were no power drinks or fancy coffees. I think there was less chemicals in the food of the 1950's and more real food. At least it tasted better because today soy is used in about 90% of all food which tries to copy the taste of that food. It is a filler and adding all of there other things there is less that is real food.

It also depends on what country you're in.
