He was a patrot of sorts. Surely a politcal figure during the revolutionary war and uprising. But he was more or less a figure that helped provok the war. Think of it this way. He wrote out these ideas of basic rights. Freedom of speech, Religion and Pursuit of Hpaainess. These ideas helped inspire the war but when the war actually broke out he kind of went underground. Honestly I would too, you just gave a malitia reasoning and power to start war and if they loose you are the first to be hanged, murilaited and burned. XD
