Pizzaro destroyed the Incan empire. i remember it like this "the inca's ordered pizza but instead they got Pizzaro"
He wasn't trying to explore, he wanted to conquer the Incan empire
Francisco Pizzaro was a Spanish conquistador. Raised in Spain, he was poor. When he heard of Cortes's success in conquering the Aztecs, an older Francisco Pizzaro went and conquered the Incan empire, which is now modern day Peru. He became very rich. He captured the Incan ruler, Atahualpa and demanded ransom for him. The Incans paid it. Pizzaro had superior weapons and the Inca were weakened bu European diseases. Thus, letting Pizzaro conquer them. Later, Pizarro was killed by a rival Spanish faction a few years later after he established the city of Lima.
The Incan civilization was ultimately brought to an end by the Spanish conquistador Francisco Pizarro. Pizarro and his forces captured the Incan emperor Atahualpa in 1532, leading to the downfall of the Incan Empire.
Francisco Pizzaro valued power, wealth, and control. He was driven by ambitions to conquer territories, amass riches, and establish his authority in the New World through his conquests in South America, particularly the Incan Empire.
Fransisco Pizarro claimed the majority of South America for Spain. He conquered the Incan Empire in doing so
The Incan emperor defeated by Francisco Pizarro was Atahualpa. He was captured by Pizarro's forces in 1532 during the Spanish conquest of the Inca Empire. Despite paying a large ransom for his release, Atahualpa was ultimately executed by the Spaniards, leading to the rapid decline of Incan power.
The Incan civil war made it easier for Pizzaro to conquer the Incans. Atahualpa had fought with his older half-brother Huascar and executed him. So he felt very strong and unthreatened when he and 80 Inca lords entered Pizzaro's camp with 169 men and 60 horses. Atahualpa should have stayed with his army of 80,000 men.
The last Incan king in Peru was Atahualpa.
