of course it was
the poor did not have money and that was a lot of peapol so it was not the best in Tudor times it was the worst!
Begging didnt work and poor people were treated badly. The only way to earn/get money was to play tricks. This was so that they could make a living and try to survive.
It was horrible because they would have to work 6 days a week. They would only work 6 because Sunday was a work day off and also a holy day.
In the Tudor times, there were many poor people on the streets. The government decided to put them into 2 groups, the deserving and the idle. the deserving poor were the poor people who couldn't work through no fault of their own. For example, orphans widowers with lots of children, sick and ill and so on. However the idle poor are the poor who refused to work because of laziness. They were fit to work but spent time in the streets begging instead of finding a job. These people were whipped until bloody and were punished. Orphans in the deserving poor might have been sent to traders to learn how to trade. By fearne hope this hepled!!!!
life as a tudor child was hard work because they had to work all day
work and go shopping for food and lots more
Work on farms, as servants or prostitute. Take care of babies and house. Beg if things were reall bad.
Sir Henry Unton was not a typical Tudor person because he lived in the Montacute house of Somerset while the other poor and medium- class people like the yeomen, labourers and the citizens lived in a simple house. He led a luxurious life while the other people had to work very hard. So, Sir Henry Unton was not a typical Tudor person.
Work
... Why were people poor in the 1500's? In the 1500s the majority of the population was poor; they struggled to feed their family. One of the most serious problems that the government faced was how to deal with the poor. In the 1500s the population had grown very rapidly and so this had increased the demand for food. This meant that food prices became higher, but because there was plenty of people available to work their wages remained very low. The problem was made worse because many land owners had changed their usage of land from crops to sheep. In the 1500s there was about 8 million sheep to only 2.7 million people. This meant that less land was being used for crops at a time when the population was increasing.
In Tudor times, a woman was supposed to look after the children, clean the house cook and all the other house work, waiting for their husband to come home, then make sure they're happy.
