US: Abraham Lincoln, the 16th president Canada: Sir Wilfrid Laurier, Prime Minister from 1896 to 1911 Australia: Queen Elizabeth II New Zealand: Sir Edmund Hillary
Abraham Lincoln is featured on the front of the US 5 dollar bill, and his memorial is pictured on the back. The Canadian 5 dollar note features Sir Wilfrid Laurier, and the Australian 5 dollar note has Queen Elizabeth II on its front.
He got voted out due to the reciprocity issue- he was going to make free trade between Canada and the US (which appealed to the farmers). However, businessmen were afraid that local jobs and businesses would disappear. Laurier, only supported by Saskatchewan and Alberta, was voted out in favor of Robert Borden's Conservatives and the National Policy.
"There are several Chateau Laurier hotels in the United States. Some of the locations include; Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Maui, San Fransisco, and Newport Beach."
In New Zealand, there is a portrait of Sir Edmund Hillary, and of a snowy mountain. There are several decorative features as well. In Canada, the five dollar note contains the profile of former prime minister Sir Wilfred Laurier. And in the US, the five dollar bill shows the face of President Abraham Lincoln.
