The Iroquois usually hunt for animals and then kill them. The Iroquois use the animals by taking of their fur and wear them as long as they want.

The Tuscarora Iroquois was called the shirt wearing Iroquois. My Great Grandmother and her mother has a picture and they both was wearing long English dresses. My Great Grandmother's son, her 3rd child was born in about 1904. So, you can see that in the 1800's some of the Iroquois wore English dresses. The picture was before any of the children was born and before she got married in Nebraska.

Where did the Cahokia Indians live?

Cahokia is a large Mississippian (AD 1000-1600) agricultural settlement and mound group located on the American Bottom of the Mississippi River in Illinois. At its height, Cahokia was the center of the Mississippian culture, with a population of about 20,000 people and trade connections throughout the midwest. Many of Cahokia's outlying settlements in the vicinity of East St. Louis were investigated in advance of highway construction. The researcher most associated with Cahokia would probably be Melvin L. Fowler, who conducted excavations in the 1960s and 1970s.
