The Queen and the dwarf offered Edmund the promise of becoming a prince and eventually ruling over Narnia if he brought his siblings to them.
The Queen tempts Edmund by promising him power and the chance to be a prince and eventually a king if he brings his siblings to her castle, as well as the lure of Turkish Delight, his favorite treat. She plays on his desire for recognition and his jealousy of his older brother, Peter.
The Queen of Narnia, who is actually the White Witch, changes from being angry to sympathetic towards Edmund because she sees an opportunity to manipulate him to her advantage. She knows that she can use his desire for Turkish Delight to lure him into helping her and betraying his siblings. She feigns sympathy in order to deceive him and further her own agenda.
The White Witch and the dwarf plan to use Edmund to find his siblings and bring them to her castle. Once all four siblings are together, she plans to kill Edmund in order to prevent the prophecy of the four thrones being filled and her reign being overthrown.
