What did the US do for the Japanese?

At the end of the war the US occupied Japan. They restructured their government and helped the Japanese to repair the country and gave them food too. They provided health care as needed. The US stayed there for 7 years. Japan was kind enough to allow the US servicemen places to stay during furlough during the Korean War.

Many scientists and businessmen came to Japan to help them get their economy back in line. That is why there were thousands of products and cars made in Japan that we imported to the United States.
