The reconstructing of Japan.
Japan's military command was in one place for the strategy to bomb cities until Japan surrender. The US understood that Japan would hold but 2 were sufficient.
No, in fact they were preparing for an invasion of mainland Japan.
I think they decided to bomb there because there were alot of us.troops.
Because Germany and Italy already surrendered and Japan continued to refuse to surrender.
i think it's pearl harbor. because if it is, they succeeded.
They didn't decide they were going to bomb Hiroshima - they decided they were going to use the atomic bomb on Japan. The US gave Japan two separate warnings that they would employ (paraphrase) a "terrible new weapon", if unconditional surrender was not forthcoming. Japan refused, and that was the first atomic bomb drop. Hiroshima was not finalized as a target until the B-29 was in the air for several hours (weather considerations). Genuinely shocked by Hiroshima, Japan nonetheless dug in it's heels, betting the first atomic bomb was a one-shot deal. Nagasaki brought Japan to it's knees.
Answer One reason for using the atomic bomb was to shorten the war and save the lives of American and also Japanese soldiers who would die in the invasion. How do you put a price tag on lives???????????
The estimate were 100,000 casualties for the US.
Most people don't think so.
We can never know for certain as that is not the case. However had the Nazies been able to continue fighting or had the bombs been ready before the Nazi surrender, I believe there is a good chance the first atomic bomb would have been dropped in Germany instead of Japan. But this is also not the case as they surrendered before the atomic bomb was available. Counterfactual History can be fun to think about, but rapidly disintegrates into uncontrolled and irrational speculation.
