The Axis nations were divided. Japan was separated from Germany and Italy. They could not help each other. They were incapable of joint operations. Germany had a number of allies in Europe. England and the United States had a number of allies. Germany's allies could not understand Germany. England's allies understood and spoke English. They could communicate. As the war progressed, long range bombers destroyed the factories of the Axis nations hurting their ability to make war materiel. No bombs destroyed the factories in America or the Urals of Russia. They kept producing more and more guns, planes, ships, and bombs.
By opening a second front the Allies would be able to draw off German strength from the Eastern Front and help relieve pressure upon the Russians .
