They helped with the livestock and crops. From 1802-1823 the mission had 10,000 head of cattle and sheep. In 1821 they had 13,732 head made of up 3,500 head of cattle and 9,000 head of sheep. They grew wheat, barley, corn, peas, lentils , chickpeas, 2 vineyards, and fruit trees.
