The Egyptians believed in the afterlife. When someone died, they took out their main organs except for the ones they believed were necessary for their second chance of life. the mummies were also locked away with piles upon piles of gold and other things, for the egyptians also thought that they would have needed them in their afterlife.

The Egyptians believe that it was made for them, I can't possibly see why though. I would believe this for any other country but this one. No one has explained to me why it was made for them(Egyptians), so, someone tell me why....plz
If you love/care for someone, you want them to go to Afterlife. It is basically one steps to achieve in order to do so. there is still the opening of the mouth for the person who has passed be able to eat, see, feel etc.. then the weighing of the heart..

The ancient Egyptians believed that names were almost sacred. That knowing someone's name gave you power over that person. Therefore, some Egyptians did not give out their real name. The god Ra is an example. Ra was not the real name of the sun god. His name was kept secret so that no one would have power over him.
