Their large ears help dissipate excess body heat, to where as their kidneys are adapted to restrict water loss. Their burrowing and nocturnal lifestyle helps with water loss as well. Thick fur helps for cold desert nights although they have thick fur on the soles of their feet which help with the hot sand.
