Giganotosaurus looked much like typical large theropods, such as Tyrannosaurus rex. It was 40 to 43 feet long and weighed 6.5 to 13.8 tons, depending on the weight estimate used. Giganotosaurus was related to Carcharodontosaurus, not Tyrannosaurus, though. A unique feature were its tall spines.
