King Herod mainly wanted to know from the wise men where it was that the king of the Jews would be born.So that he could kill the child.
The King that was visited by the Wise Men was King Herod
Nothing!
respect
No. They knew that he was special and was the King of the Jews. But they did not know why he was here.
The Three Wise Men saw a star in the sky and the Wise Men believed that if there was a bright star in the night that it would be the coming of a new king. When Jesus was born, King Herrod told the Wise Men to go and see the Baby that was going to be called the new king. King Herrod told the Three wise men that he was going to worship this baby but he just need to know where he was. Being a typical king, he never wanted to loose his power and riches so King Herrod feared of being replaced by a baby that was going to replace him. The Three Wise men followed the star and finally came to the Stable of where the Baby Jesus was born. That night an Angel appeared to Joseph in a dream and told him to take the baby and flee to Egypt and the Wise Men went back to their countries and never returned to the king. King Herrod became angry when the wise men never came back and ordered that all babies that were 2 years and younger to be dead.
The wise men followed the star to Jerusalem and then asked Herod the Great where the "new born King" was to be born. Herod inquired of the chief priests and scribes and they told him, Bethlehem. Then the wise men followed the star to where Jesus was.
King Herod gave this instructions to the wise men, to go and find the baby and inform him , so he to could worship him.
We do not know if the wise men had pages or servants with them on this trip. But because this new born child was born King the wise men would have given their presents to Him themselves. It would have been a disgrace to have a servant do the honors.
Technically, we do not know how many wise men there were, we only know that there were three gifts of gold and frankincense, and myrrh. There could be a hundred wise men for all we know.
King Herod asked the wise men to tell him where he could find Jesus, because Herod wanted to kill Jesus.
Because it was to show that he was a king
There is no story in the Gospels of any Arabian king giving anything to Our Lord Jesus.
