Mission Native Americans were not treated well at missions. Once the converted to Christianity they weren't allowed to leave the mission. The soldiers who were assigned to the mission treated them poorly. Often they raped the women and the padres didn't treat them right either. On mission grounds historians have found mass graves of Native Americans.
