Much people eat today,at least at Mediterranean countryside

Spartans were famous for their black soup,made of blood mostly.But it was only a small part of the menu.. Their meal was no different than today or any other day in Mediterranean. Beef,chicken,lamb, potato,bread,all kinds of wheat made food, cheese,olives,oil,fruit, salads,vegetables.the usual.And not to forget the WINE.Although in Sparta it was said the man should drink little and while eating so he would not get drunk.

Actually, while Spartan culture did focus upon warfare, there were other castes to their society that fed and cared for the warrior caste. They were not a starving people.
