The religious leaders once asked Jesus by what power or authority he performed signs and miracles?
In the Bible, they accused Jesus of blasphemy.
Jesus told the man that his sins were forgiven. The religious leaders believed that Jesus did not have the right to forgive people of their sins. :)
They were the Religious leaders of the church
They tried to trick Jesus on a sabath.
The Pharisees which were Jewish religious leaders

Jesus answered: "I will ask you one question. You answer me, and I will also tell you by what authority I do these things." When the scribes and older men were unwilling to give an answer, Jesus said: "Neither am I telling you by what authority I do these things." (Mark 11:27-33)
They were the pharasees.
Since Jesus is the son of God, He would be king of the Jews. Him being a king would make him a threat to King Ceaser, and the religious leaders feared that they would lose their positions.
They falsely charged Jesus of blasphemy. Mark 14:64
Jesus Christ is God/ Son of God. You can't get more religious then that. Jesus was born in Israel to the tribe of Judah and followed the true Law of Moses, but not any of the man made laws that the religious leaders had made up.
Sabbath.
