The Separatists, were people who wanted to leave the Catholic Church. Many had ideas that emphasised simple aspects of the faith, which they obviously thought were the essentials of Christian Religion! Three major examples were Baptists, Congregationalists and funnily enough the Roman Catholics who at the Council of Trent, didn't so much leave the Catholic Church, but withdrew in to a Catholic Sect on the over emphasis of the papal Jurisdiction.
