Brule then spent perhaps a year with the Susquehannocks, during which time he supposedly explored the entire Susquehanna River downstream to it's mouth at Chesapeake Bay, and perhaps through the length of the bay and gained sight of the Atlantic. Shortly after leaving the Susquehannock villages and heading back for Canada, he was captured by the Senecas, either in northwestern PA or western New York.
