Joan of Arc had a banner made for her at the same time as her suit of armor. It was done by a Scotsman at Tours and showed Jesus holding the world with an angel on each side. The rest of it was all white with the fleur de lys of France on it. Joan much preferred to carry her beautiful white banner into battle rather than her sword because she "did not want to kill anyone". She often waved it in battle to inspire her troops to charge.
