When we think of war you probably think of men fighting on a battlefield.People think they did all the work... But in World War Two woman were very important. Without women the war would have been a disaster. Who made the airplanes,who made the bombs and who risked their lives to help the war. Woman did! Some of the work like making bombs was very dangerous so they had to be careful. They also provided the men with food,drink and clothing.
More than 400 women disguised themselves as men and fought in the Union and Confederate armies during the Civil War.
Men between the ages of 18 and 35 who were fit for military service and who were not in jobs vital to the war effort such as coal mining and emergancy service.

No, in fact men did not want women to serve in the war because they wanted men to be in the war not woman. Although woman helped in the war as nurses and cooks most did not actually fight. Woman filled in for factory jobs that men had before they left for the war. When the men got back from the war the women left the factories and where sent back to care for the home as normal house wives. This soon provoked the womans rights movement. =p

the special thing in the 1500's was that the woman would stay at home, clean, cook and look after the children, whilst the men where out at work. woman where just like house maids, not knowing anything but the men helped them survive!
The Women stayed home and worked in the factories when the men left. This helped to incrase their statous when the men returned from war
they were only separated in the camps, as before then it was easier to manage them whilst keeping them together, but once in the camps it was easier to manage them apart.
