They are "time-release" capsules of Tramal. They release small amounts of Tramal into your system over time (as it slowly dissolves). Standard Tramal tablets give you the dosage (ex. 50 mg) all at once. The SR type release a little a time. The idea is to allow you to take a single pill that lasts several hours (more then the standard 6 hours for Tramal). Many drugs use a similar idea and are often labeled as "12-hour" or "24-hour" pills. Beware. This is, supposedly, a pseudo-opiate which has a legitimate use as a prescription pain-reliever. But because the drug company that sells it claims that it is "non-addictive" some people get trapped by it. Where I live, in a country which sells drugs without prescriptions, young people are ABUSING this drug, taking many tablets per day, and they are ruining their lives, livers, and stomachs. According to some sources, getting off Tramal is as bad as getting off any opiate! It has painful and terrifying side-effects. So, if it works like an opiate, relieves pain like an opiate, but is addictive like an opiate, is painful and difficult to let go of, like an opiate, how is it NOT like an opiate? This is a substance which needs to be controlled and guarded to protect people who cannot protect themselves. Beware.
